THE ARK, a non-profit organization helps Chicagoland Jews faced with adversity to navigate toward self-reliance. Based in Chicago, with a satellite location in Northbrook, Illinois, ARK professionals, volunteers and donors provide free, comprehensive services within a framework of Jewish values and laws. The ARK’s comprehensive services include social services, a health and dental clinic, food pantry, intensive day program, post hospitalization support, spiritual enrichment, transitional residence, employment services and more. Embarking on a new chapter of growth, The ARK is hoping to expand its current headquarters to make our facility more physically, accessible, functional and secure.
At this time, The ARK, a social service agency, is seeking an experienced CEO to lead our organization.
The CEO, who will be accountable to the elected Board of Directors, will play a critical role in the overall operation and growth of The ARK. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership qualities with notable experience in a CEO role for a non-profit organization. Additionally, the CEO will demonstrate a diplomatic and motivational management style, collaborative approach, strong financial and business acumen and the ability to represent The ARK with complete professionalism. This individual should have fundraising experience with ability to maintain donors, identify potential donors and make an ask when appropriate. Direct reports will include, but not be limited to Chief Operations Officer, Director of Clinical Services, Accounting/IT, Medical/Dental, Social Service, and Employment Services.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree required - Master’s Degree preferred
• Proven experience working with Social Service Organizations and/or Non-Profit Organizations
• Non-Profit management experience is mandatory
• Exceptional facility management skill with hands on experience in building renovation and construction
• Proven leadership (long and short term) with successful supervisory and management experience
• Strong, effective communication skills able to manage overall operations and confidently make major decisions affecting staff and organization
• In depth knowledge of finances, investments and budget construction
• Experience in working with and reporting to a Board of Directors
• An in-depth knowledge and familiarity of Jewish law, customs, and traditions is required.
